Dog Licensing:

All dogs 4 months of age and older must be licensed.  

Fees are as follows:  spayed/neutered $9, un-spayed/un-neutered $18.   

An updated copy of rabies vaccination is required, as well as proof of spay/neuter

Rabies Vaccination Clinics

FREE Rabies Vaccination Clinics offered by the Wyoming County Health Department:  2025 Dates

Saturday, October 4, 2025 9am-11am, Wyoming County Highway Department, 4328 Route 19, Rock Glen

Dogs, cats and ferrets three months of age or over will be inoculated at these clinics. The initial vaccination is good for one year only. For dogs and cats each vaccination thereafter will be valid for three years. (ferrets must be vaccinated yearly.)  Animals must be accompanied by someone able to control them. This is a free clinic to Wyoming County residents however donations are encouraged to off-set clinic costs.  *A mandatory $10.00 fee per animal will be collected for out-of-county residents*   If you have any questions, please call The Wyoming County Health Department at 585-786-8894.  

Marriage Licenses

By appointment only.  Marriage licenses require the presence of the bride and groom. 

Original birth certificates (with seal) as well as a drivers license or passport are required for identification purposes. 

Divorced applicants must bring dated divorce papers.  The cost is $40, cash or check made payable to the Java Town Clerk accepted

A marriage ceremony cannot occur until 24 hours after license issuance and the license is valid for up to 60 days.   

 

One Day Marriage Officiant Application: Please use the link below to access the application for a one-day marriage officiant license.  Fee is $25; cash or check made payable to the Java Town Clerk accepted.

 The officiant must be applying at the same office that the couple to be married received their marriage license.  

Parking Permits for People with Disabilities

The Town Clerk issues the permit after your physician has filled out the required paperwork.

Valid photo ID is required.  There is no fee for the permit.  

Freedom of Information Law Requests

 To request copies of Town records, please complete the FOIL request form and submit to the Town Clerk.  

Copies will only be made after payment has been received.  

Certified Copies of Birth, Death, Marriage Records

PLEASE CALL or email the Town Clerk before requesting copies of birth, death or marriage licenses.

Marriage Certificates:  

Certified copies of marriage licenses may be issued to the spouses listed on the license.  
If requesting by mail:  

Please complete the marriage request form at the bottom of this page and submit with a notarized letter requesting the document, a copy of a government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID). 
If requesting in person:  

please bring a government issued photo ID and a completed marriage request form
Fee:  $10.00 payable to the Java Town Clerk

 

 

 

Death Certificates:  

Certified copies of death certificates can only be issued to a spouse, children, siblings or parents of the deceased or other lawful representative with medical or legal documentation.
If requesting by mail:  

Please complete the request form at the bottom of this page and submit with a notarized letter requesting the document, a copy of a government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID).
If requesting in person:   

please bring a government issued photo ID and a completed death certificate request form
Fee:  $10.00 payable to the Java Town Clerk


 

 

Birth Certificates:

A certified copy of a certificate of live birth may only be issued to the following:  the individual named on the certificate, a parent named on the certificate, a legal guardian or by court order.
If requesting by mail:

Please complete the request form at the bottom of this page under downloads and submit with a notarized letter requesting the document, a copy of a government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID)
If requesting in person:

a government issued photo ID and a completed birth certificate request form
Fee:  $10.00 payable to the Java Town Clerk


 

 

Genealogy Requests:

  • Birth certificates - if on file for at least 75 years and the person whose name is on the birth certificate is known to be deceased.

  • Death certificates - if on file for at least 50 years.

  • Marriage certificates - if on file for at least 50 years and both spouses are known to be deceased.

 

The time periods are waived for direct-line descendants. A direct line descendant is a person in the direct line of descent, i.e., the child, grandchild, great grandchild of the person whose record is requested. The direct-line descendant applicant must provide the following:

 

  • Proof of their relationship to the person whose record they are requesting.

  • Proof of the death of the person whose birth certificate they are requesting.

  • Proof of the death of both spouses whose marriage certificate they are requesting
